Strictly Dance Fever: The Final

For this final the competitors would start off with dancing their favourite/best dance of the series, followed by a freestyle dance and a group Polka. Danny & Jodie chose to do their high scoring Milonga from two weeks ago, and this time they got maximum points of 40 out of 40. Joseph and Sadie performed their Lindyhop, and again they got 40 out of 40 from the judges. James and Claire did their Cuban Salsa and got nine points from each of the judges giving them 36 out of 40.

For the freestyle routine Danny and Jodie did a jive routine to Footloose and were told that it was only an average routine and got 31/40. Jodie looked a bit tearful, but that is par for the course these days. Joseph and Sadie danced to What You Waiting for and started off waltzing to show that they could do it (after scoring so poorly last week) and then speeding up and getting Joseph to show off his excellent jumps and their death defying lifts, which scored the 39/40. James and Claire performed to I Wanna Dance With Somebody and managed to show off Claire the spinning top's skills and managed a few lifts (Claire has weight issues but has lost quite a bit) which were well executed. They scored 34.

These were the last scoring dances they would dance. The end of the first show showed a montage of all the ex-competitors, who then each danced a small section of one of their best dances. Kristy, who was voted out in the semi-final was offered a part in a touring production of Grease.

In the second show all three couples danced a Polka for the judges to comment on, and the viewers to vote on, which was very colourful and quite entertaining. After this the third place couple were announced and the final two couples got to dance off in the Charleston (non-scored). It was announced that James & Claire were third, which they expected and were happy with.

Danny and Jodie did their maximum scoring Charleston from last week, and then Joseph and Sadie did their one which I had loved before, and seemed better to me. The judges raved and after a brief interlude where were entertained by the young cast of Billy Elliot the results were announced and Joseph and Sadie were announced as well-deserved winners. What will I do on Saturday tea-time now?
