The Vegemite Tales

Last night I went to see The Vegemite Tales at the Riverside Studios. It is a relatively short play set in a shared flat in Acton. The characters are made up of some Antipodeans and an Italian flat mate. Even though we were probably some of the few non-Antipodeans in the audience we still enjoyed it. As a retired backpacker myself I could see connections between my experience and that of the Aussies 'putting their life on hold' to enjoy life in London. The Tales are part narrated by the cast between the scenes and it manages to be funny and moving at the same time.

We went on the opening night of this run and the show went well (apart from losing the phone and some lights not going down at the right time. It is a small studio theatre and we were at the back, thus it was quite difficult to see characters sitting on the floor, but it is mainly dialogue led, so we didn't miss too much.

Recommended.
