The Apprentice: Episode Seven

This week’s task was to organise lots for a celebrity fundraising auction. Due to the altercations between Paul and Saira, Sir Alan split them up to choose their own team – Saira chose James, Raj and Sebastian. Paul chose Ben, Tim and Miriam.

The two teams each chose five celebs from a list and approached them to try and get donations for the rebuilt Hackney Empire.

Ben headed up one team and James the other. In my opinion James’s team had the worst selection of celebs and had a hard time in getting donations from Eamon Holmes and Mel Smith. Ben’s team were more assertive and asked the people from Chicago show for 50 tickets, in comparison James’s team asked for four tickets to Mel Smith’s new show. Ben (and all the team) got Michael Winner to give a meal at The Ivy restaurant and they even persuaded TV gardener Diamund Gavin to donate his motorbike.

Before the auction, James’s team sat in the seats of their box, whilst Ben’s team networked and told people about their auctions. In the end, James’s team got £10,000 approx, whilst Ben’s got £18,000 and were the winners.

James said he did not think Saira should go into the boardroom, as she had worked the hardest of all. He took Raj and Sebastian in with him. Both were weak in the boardroom, Raj bumbled and Sebastian talked a bit of bollocks. In the end Sebastian was fired ‘with regret’ as it was felt he did not have the killer instinct.
