The Apprentice: Episode Three

After the girls' team First Forte had taken a hammering two weeks in a row, Sir Alan had a plan. He nominated the team leaders: Matthew and Adele, and then asked them to pick from the other side to even up the teams to six each. Adele had Miriam, Miranda, Ben, Sebastian and Tim. Matthew had Saira, Paul, Rachel, James and Raj. The task this week was a buying and negotiating one, the teams had to split up and buy certain items around London - a mattress, jellied eels, a diamond, a bowler hat, a freeview box and a bottle of champagne.

Both teams did well, and in fact Matthew's team did not get the bowler hat and thus were fined £80, but still they won as the Asian team mates managed to negotiate with an Asian shopkeeper to get the free-view box for free.

First Forte (Adele's team) went back to the boardroom and it was apparent that no one particularly was a weak link, Adele chose Ben and Miranda to come back and face the music with her. Ben,Adele thought, was lazy but that accusation did not really stick, and was lost in the bickering between Adele and Miranda. Adele accused her of being disruptive and unsupportive. Miranda complained of no structure and clarification and no strong leadership. As Sir Alan had reviewed the footage, he though Miranda was disruptive and she was fired. It appears to me that Adele could be on borrowed time, as she appears to have personality conflicts with a lot of her team members (particularly the women).
