Finally we got round to watching this on DVD - the film that (deservedly) won Charlize Theron an Oscar. The film is based on the true exploits of how prostitute Aileen Wournos became America's first female serial killer and her lesbian relationship with a girl named Selby.

The acting was superb although, like a lot of true life films, the story was slow at time, but as I was not familiar with the original story I was still kept interested. Theron had to put on a lot of weight and have fake teeth to fully undergo the transformation of plain, brutal, butch, fucked-up Aileen.
