House of Flying Daggers

I watched this on DVD, and whilst I prefer to watch subtitled films in the cinema, due to less distractions, I really liked this.

There was not a great deal of dialogue, the story was action based set around government officers (Leo and Jin) trying to track the Flying Daggers, an underground movement. Their clue is in blind, captured Mei, and Jin poses as an undercover rebel and helps her escape and escorts her back to her leader. There are a few twists, and their journey is not smooth, their is also a bit of romance (the love scenes are a bit odd). There are the usual spectacular Martial Arts fight scenes, including one in a forest which was breathtaking and Mei's dance of the Echo Game. The costumes and scenery are also impressive.

7/10
