Ikea opening chaos

I has been looking forward to the new Ikea opening in Edmonton, which is not far from where I work, although I was not prepared to turn up at midnight on the opening day in search of promotional bargains. I am glad I didn't as by all accounts it was chaos, as people were treated for heat exhaustion and one man was stabbed.

Are the British now so desperate for a bargain that all thought of their own safety and that of others goes out the window?

It is ironic that today is Debt Freedom Day. Supposedly the day that the average worker has earned enough money to pay off the average credit card and loan debt. I guess that is before they fill their cards up to the limit again.
