Notes on a Scandal by Zoe Heller
This is a short, easy to read book by Zoe Heller which is written in the first person by an intriguing, needy, spinster called Barbara about her teaching colleague and friend Sheba after it is revealed that Sheba had an affair with a fifteen year old student. The narration and the tidbits revealed by Barbara about her life are as revealing and as interesting as the scandal that Sheba finds herself caught up in, the story is more character led than plot led, and my only criticism was a slightly week ending.
