Save the Whale

Yesterday morning a man phoned the emergency services to say that he may have been hallucinating but there was a whale in the Thames. He wasn't hallucinating. The 17 foot Northern bottlenosed whale was lost and, no doubt, disorientated in its detour down the Thames. This type of whale is apparently only seen around the Northern and Western Scottish isles.

Unforunatly the whale is in distress having cut itself several times as the river bottom is a lot shallower than the waters it is familar with. A vet is examining it to determine whether to put it down or put in on a barge out to sea.
