Essexgirl does Camden

Ratboy and I decided to explore Camden's markets yesterday. The first few bits we saw were disappointing (although Ratboy bought a T-shirt and I got some 'Dior' sunglasses for £10), mainly clothes but a lot of it was the same type of slogan T-shirts and cheapy gypsy skirts.

I then bought some far retro Gola trainers in one of the funky shoe shops on the street.

The Canal market was better with a stall selling sepia photos of London and some interesting food stalls, where we shared a fab Thai green vegetable curry for £3.50. It is a shame so many other places can't do food that good for the price. After a quick pub stop, we tried the Lock markets which were much more original with crafty stalls including some original handbags (which I reluctantly resisted), homewares, antiques and African and Oriental imports plus more food places. It is a bit of a rabbit warren and we ended up leaving (for a dash to Waterstones up the High Street) with the feeling that we hadn't seen it all.

Will definitely be back.
