Two Brothers

I had read an article about the how they filmed the tiger stars of this movie which was fascinating, unfortunately the article was better than the film.

I love animals, especially the big cats, but in trying to widen the appeal to the family market the film has gone a bit far by trying to humanise the tigers by assigning them human emotions and an understanding of the rules of hide and seek (when playing with a human child). However the film depicts a lot of animal cruelty that could be distressing to a child, so I am not too sure who this film is aimed at. The story is based on two tiger cubs who are separated after hunters come onto their land and are sold around parts of French Indochina and have different lives. It is mainly predictable, sometimes funny, and sometimes horrible (the animal cruelty scenes).

That said the tiger cubs are adorably sweet and it is amusing to watch them, but don't hold high expectations.

5/10
